THREAD VEIN REMOVAL
Sclerotherapy
Treatment consists of a sterile chemical that is injected into the vessels using a small needle, causing inflammation, irritation and scarring of the inner lining of the vessel. This makes them shrink, collapse, harden, close up (fibrosis) and eventually fade away, completely resolving the cosmetic problem and other associated symptoms. A few sessions may be required to obtain maximum benefit. At first the vein may look bruised but it will soon fade and disappear. The results are permanent, however, if you are prone to leg thread veins you may need occasional maintenance treatments if new vessels appear.
Sclerotherapy is known as the "gold standard" and is preferred over IPL or laser for eliminating large spider veins and smaller varicose leg veins. Unlike a laser, the sclerosing solution additionally closes the "feeder veins" under the skin that are causing the spider veins to form, thereby making a recurrence of the spider veins in the treated area less likely.
LEGS
From £100
There are many causes of broken veins on the leg and thigh area such as pregnancy, weight gain and age. Large varicose veins do not respond as well as small ones to sclerotherapy. By compressing the leg veins with a graduated compression stocking, the vein walls heal together closing them off. This is the sclerosis of the veins. It is therefore advised to wear compression or tight leggings for a number of hours following the treatment. For broken veins on the legs, treatment starts at £100 depending on the size of the area or number of broken vein areas needing treatment.

FACE
From £70
Facial thread vein removal is a procedure that reduces the appearance of spider veins or broken blood vessels (capillaries) on the face. These veins are not dangerous, but they can be unattractive, causing a reddening of the facial skin. Commonly found around the nose and cheeks. Pricing starts from £70 depending on severity.
